
Kuroda Nagamasa (1568-1623) |
Warrior general of the Azuchi-Momoyama period, and the first lord of Fukuoka domain. Son of Kuroda Yoshitaka (1546-1604). In 1589 Nagamasa became the head of his family and the governor of Kai province. In the battle of Sekigahara he faught with the eastern armies under the command of Tokugawa Ieyasu. After the battle he built Fukuoka castle. In 1603 Nagamasa was appointed governor of Chikuzen province. |
